Privacy policy

October 2026

This policy covers the Hourpie app for iOS, iPadOS, and Android, and the website at hourpie.app.

The short version

  • Hourpie has no accounts. You never give us your name or email address to use it.
  • Your timers, presets, and history stay on your device. We do not receive them.
  • The free app shows ads from Google AdMob, which collects some device data. The lifetime unlock removes the ads.
  • The website has no ads and no analytics.

Data the app keeps on your device

The app stores your timers, presets, history, settings, and streaks in a database on your device. This data does not leave your device, except in your device backups, which Apple or Google handle under their own policies. If you delete the app, the data is deleted.

Ads in the free app

The free version of the app shows ads from Google AdMob. A banner shows only on the home and history screens. The app also shows at most one full-screen ad a day, and only after you finish a timer. Ads never appear while a timer runs or in classroom mode. AdMob can collect device information, such as an advertising identifier, your IP address, and how you interact with ads, to show and measure ads. Google handles this data under the Google privacy policy and explains it in how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Where the law requires consent, such as in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the app asks for your choice with Google's consent form before it requests ads. You can change your choice in the app's Settings. The iOS app does not ask for permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites.

Purchases

Apple and Google process the lifetime unlock. We do not receive your payment details. The app asks the store whether you own the unlock, so that it can restore the unlock on a new device.

Notifications

The app schedules notifications on your device to tell you when a timer ends. These notifications are created on your device and are not sent through our servers.

The website

The web timer saves your timer settings and any running timer in your browser's local storage, so a timer survives a reload. This data stays in your browser. The website uses no cookies, no ads, and no analytics. Cloudflare hosts the website and processes standard request data, such as IP addresses, to deliver pages and protect the site.

Children

Hourpie is a general-audience app for adults and teachers. It is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we update this page and the effective date at the top.
